It may feel as though we have only just caught up with our workloads after returning home from a spectacular K 2016, but preparations for K 2019 have already begun.

The first meeting of the Exhibitors' Council in Düsseldorf has been held for the world's biggest plastics processing exhibition, which will take place from October 16th-23rd 2019 in Düsseldorf.
The Council comprises representatives from exhibiting industries and leading associations to cover the entire spectrum of what K has to offer supporting Messe Düsseldorf in its preparations for K 2019 and advising on concepts and the show's organisation.
Ulrich Reifenhäuser will stay on as Chairman of the Exhibitors’ Council. Reifenhäuser is Managing Partner of machinery manufacturing company Reifenhäuser and is Chairman of the Association for Plastics and Rubber Machinery in the VDMA. The Organisation Committee is once again led by Thorsten Kühmann, Managing Director Plastics and Rubber Machinery, Forum Composite Technology, within VDMA.
The Exhibitors’ Council K 2019 Düsseldorf comprises one woman and fourteen men: Juliane Hehl from Arburg, Marc Gregor Baier from BBP Kunststoffwerk Marbach Baier, Michael Baumeister from Brückner Maschinenbau, Dr Rüdiger Baunemann from PlasticsEurope, Siamak Djafarian from Evonik, Boris Engelhardt from Wirtschaftsverband der Deutschen Kautschukindustrie, Manfred Hackl from EREMA, Rainer Höfling from Borealis, Ulf Kelterborn from Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen, Dr Ulrich Liman from Covestro, Dr Oliver Möllenstädt from GKV, Klaus-Uwe Reiß from MITRAS, Dr Christoph Steger from ENGEL, Peter Steinbeck from Windmöller & Hölscher, Dr Frank Stieler from KraussMaffei, and Pascal Streiff from EUROMAP/Swissmem.
The triennial K show gives an industry-defining overview of the global plastics and rubber industry, with exhibitors from all over the world showcasing the very latest technological developments, ground-breaking innovations and solutions. It is attended by experts from every industry and of every level of expertise in automotive, packaging, electrical engineering, electronics and communications, construction, medical technology and aviation, who gather to share knowledge, make connections and invest.
In 2016, K welcomed exactly 3,293 exhibitors and some 232,000 visitors. Exhibitors reported that as well as making many new customer contacts, these new connections resulted in contracts being signed even before the end of the show. Visitors said how enthusiastic they were about the technologies on offer, with over 70 per cent of delegates confirming that they received new information on innovations and trends. Moreover, 60 per cent of visitors said that they had come to the trade fair with concrete purchasing plans, and 58 per cent found new suppliers.
In 2019, K 2019 will once again welcome the world’s biggest providers of products and services, with exhibitor invitations to be sent out at the beginning of 2018.
