Joachin Bayer, Songwon's new Global Business Manager
A polymer stabiliser manufacturer has appointed a new Global Business Manager.
Joachin Bayer will take up the post at Songwon Specialty Antioxidants & New Products on June 1.
Bayer will take responsibility for the entire specialty antioxidant product line in an attempt to establish sustainable and profitable growth.
At the same time he will be charged with developing the expansion of the specialty portfolio and the identification of new market opportunities.
In parallel to the specialty antioxidants responsibility, Bayer will also lead Songwon’s efforts in delivering new products and solutions tailored to meet customer demands. The key focus will be on expanding existing antioxidant offerings based on the emerging needs of specific industry end-use markets such as automotive, pipes and wire & cable.
Olivier Keiser, Executive Vice President Business Management and Member of the Songwon Industrial Group Executive Committee, said: “Appointing someone of the calibre of Joachim to this position is a clear reflection on the importance we are placing on specialty antioxidants and innovative new products. In this role Joachim’s charter will be to extend our understanding of the challenges our customers will face in the future and provide timely solutions that drive sustainable and economic performance additives.
“Joachim brings a wealth of experience to this exciting and crucial new role and is already an experienced leader in our Stage Gate innovation process for new product introduction. We look forward to the mark he will make on this exciting and challenging position.”
Bayer holds a degree in Polymer Chemistry and an MBA. During his six years with Songwon he has held a number of positions in Technical Sales and Business Development and has been Songwon’s Director of Global Technical Service and New Product Commercialisation since 2011. This position has been handed over to Thomas Schmutz recently.
