Union has announced it has updated its cast film extrusion systems for synthetic paper, reportedly aimed at the Asian market.
The company, based in Vittore Olona near Milan, is manufacturing the new system, which will create what it calls ‘stone green paper’.
According to Union, the advantages of using cast technology are considerable and include a reduction in start-up costs, quality of end products and lower installation costs.
Their extrusion line has an hourly capacity of 1,500kg and produces 1,600kg bobbins of product. It already has 40 production plants in Asia and aims to expand this network into Europe and North and South America.
Union also says it does not plan to concentrate its efforts on a single market but instead wants to approach markets keen to embrace new ideas. It says innovation and diversification are key, and therefore can bring in new customers.
