A new extruder from Battenfeld-Cincinnati has a wide range of outputs, from 90 to 275 kg/h. This makes it possible to extrude a great variety of different profiles with only one machine — an attribute frequently demanded especially by newcomers. It is currently the most flexible and at the same time most compact extruder for WPC processing available, according to Battenfeld-Cincinnati, suitable for processing pre-blended compounds as well as agglomerates based on PVC, PE or PP. Maintenance-free components and energy-efficient design were the prime objectives in developing this machine model. The fiberexK72 comes with closed-loop screw core tempering, a fully insulated processing unit, AC drive and an easy-to-operate vacuum unit with a twin filter as standard.
During a technical demonstration, Battenfeld-Cincinnati showed the fiberexK72 in a complete line producing a hollow decking profile. Two different WPC compounds were processed, one based on PVC, the other on PP. Thanks to the extremely versatile processing unit which is perfectly geared to WPC processing, the processing of both compounds presented no problems whatsoever. The material changeover was carried out without production downtime, thus impressively demonstrating the enormous flexibility of this new extruder.
