K-Tron’s Stainless Steel Receiver for Free Flowing Powders and Granular Dry Bulk Materials
The K-Tron Premier 2415 Stainless Steel Receiver is designed to convey free flowing powders or granular dry bulk materials for continuous conveying applications such as hopper loading and loss-in-weight refill applications that may not require a high level of sanitary design or frequent cleaning. The design includes a variety of discharge valve types including gravity flap, orifice slide gate and butterfly valve. The receiver body is made of stainless steel (AISI 304) with internal and external mill surface finish as standard. Models are also available in painted aluminum and units are equipped with quick-release clamps to facilitate easy cleanup, filter maintenance and fast disassembly. The 2415 receiver offers a conveying rate of up to 1,000 kg/hr (2,200 lb/hr). Other models in the 2400 series of receivers provide convey rates up to 6,800 kg/hr (15,000 lb/hr). Each section of the receiver is attached by quick-connect clamps to facilitate filter maintenance and receiver cleaning. The receiver is available in either aluminum or stainless steel construction. Components of different construction are interchangeable allowing receivers to be specified with stainless steel material contact areas only. The 2415 central system unit utilises a common vacuum blower package, and is primarily used on multiple destination applications where larger conveying rates or long distances are required. Filtration choices are available to meet specific application needs based on the characteristics of the material to be conveyed. Each receiver is equipped with a heavy-duty, cast discharge spout and a one-piece stainless steel gate. A rubber seal is positioned on the spout and makes a positive seal with the gate during the draw cycle. The receiver includes an inductive proximity switch level-sensing system. The proximity switch is located in the discharge flange and requires no wires in the product zone. The current position of the discharge gate is identified by the proximity switch and is signaled to the controller for another call for material if the gate is in the closed position. Receivers are available with controls suitable for use with either a solid-state microprocessor controller, a programmable logic controller or for single receiver applications. K-Tron Premier offers the LSR Controller. All control systems utilise 24 VDC low-voltage and are available with installation kits making installation easy and more economical. The receiver controls include colour-coded quick connectors and provide communication to the central controller.
