Developed primarily for the plastics-processing industry, the AQUATRAC-3E measures the moisture content of granular solids.
For over 90 years, Brabender GmbH & Co. KG. has been a forerunner of the development, manufacture, and distribution of instruments and equipment for testing material quality and physical characteristics. And its technologies are applied in all fields of research, development, and industrial production in the chemical and food industries all over the world.
At Fakuma, the company will show its torque rheometer Plastograph EC plus, which is used for applicational investigations or processing tasks in laboratories and simulation. It serves for testing the processibility of many different kinds of plastic and plastifiable materials under practice-oriented conditions, cost-effectively, reliably and with little expenditure of time and material. For these purposes, it records all relevant data, ie. torque, pressure, barrel and mass temperature as well as speed and time needed.
At this years’ Fakuma, Brabender will also present its measuring mixer W50, which is representative for the broad range of measuring heads for the Plastograph EC plus. With Brabender measuring mixers, all processes like compounding, mixing, masticating, etc. that are relevant for production and processing of polymers and other plastic and plastifiable materials can be simulated on a laboratory scale. To do this, various blade geometries are available for different applications.
Alternatively, Brabender offers a number of interchangeable measuring extruders to be connected with the Plastograph EC plus. They are applied for testing the extrudability of polymers and for studying problems occurring in research and development as well as in practical application. Manifold screws, die heads, and downstream equipment fulfill all kinds of extrusion tasks.
For more than 50 years, Brabender Messtechnik GmbH & Co. KG deals with the development and distribution of measuring instruments for the plastics and processing industry. At Fakuma 2015, the company will show its TSSR-Meter, which serves for stress relaxation tests to be performed in order to characterise TPE, plastics and elastomers. This instrument is suitable for the development of materials for production support and quality control and is used for many applications where mechanical and thermal properties are measured.
Furthermore, Brabender Messtechnik will present its AQUATRAC - 3E, which stands for 25 years of mobile moisture determination. Developed primarily for the plastics-processing industry, the device measures the moisture content of granular solids. Thanks to its compact design, the AQUATRAC - 3E is easily transportable and can be used independently of a computer or other periphery. This allows the instrument to be used equally in the laboratory or directly at the production site, for example for incoming goods control, for monitoring and optimising the drying of granules as well as for taking measurements from a finished component.
The measuring and testing instruments provided by both Brabender companies show how combined expertise can lead to trendsetting solutions for the plastics industry.
