Competition authorities in Canada have conditionally approved the anticipated merger between Dow Chemical and DuPont.
The decision follows similar decisions by mergers commissions in the EU and Brazil, while the US Department of Justice passed an agreement on the merger on June 15, with final court decisions pending.
The merger rulings will force Dow to sell some specialised plastics lines to SK Global Chemicals, based in Seoul, and DuPont to dispose of a weed killer business.
