Circularise has been accepted by Plug and Play Tech Center into the Batch 1 of the European End Plastic Waste Innovation Program.
The organisations says the panel members of the Alliance To End Plastic Waste saw a strong fit with our technology and the vision.
For the Paris-based hub, Circularise and 10 start-ups have been selected to participate in a 90-day accelerator programme that runs until August.

Plug and Play will then host an expo, where all 11 start-ups will present their projects and initiatives to AEPW member companies for potential projects and investment.
For the last three years Circularise has been developing a way for all the parties in the value chain to become more transparent while guarding or even better never exposing sensitive information.
We call this technology “Smart Questioning” — a patented technology that allows stakeholders to ask critical questions (e.g. “Does this plastic part contain hazardous materials?”) to a guarded dataset (e.g. the bill of materials).
“Right now, if we look at the recycling loop, it’s not very effective because there’s a lack of information,” explains Circularise’s Founder Jordi de Vos.
“Imagine all the different kinds of packaging, particularly the different plastics and combinations of these, and how difficult this makes it for recyclers to market the most optimal choice.”
If we can provide them with the information they need from somewhere in the supply chain it means they can ultimately get a more high-quality resource from their waste. After all, while there is a lot of plastic waste, plastic itself is not the real problem as it’s a great material that if used correctly would be better than a lot of the alternatives. But the problem is we’re not using it correctly now.”
In 2019, Circularise has partnered with Covestro and Domo Chemicals to develop an implementation of its technology in the plastics industry. The first prototype has been built and tested. Now we opened the consortium for new members.
“The value of having this standard developed by the industry, instead of just one or two companies is in avoiding a central powerful authority and giving equal rights to all participants,” said Thomas Nuyts, Director of Global Product Management at DOMO.
