Composite manufacturer Graco has announced the creation of two fibre-reinforced plastic chop systems.
The new systems, the 13:1 chop system proportioner and the RS chop gun are ideal for moulded fibre-reinforced plastics.
The Graco chop system proportioner is designed to provide ratio control and given the importance of on-ratio dispensing to consistent final product curing, Graco has ensured minimised waste.
Furthermore, the chop system has been designed to eliminate the need for a surge bottle, while only a low amount of solvent and resin is needed to prime the pump.
The RS chop gun offers other benefits, including a dual trigger function, allowing operators to change function without needing to turn the chopper off.
Additionally, the gun has a newly designed blade cartridge, with blades moulded directly into the cartridge, meaning operators can change the blades without needing a special tool or having to touch individual blades.
This new design increases operator safety and makes it possible for the blades to be changed in less than a minute.
The Graco RS chop gun is 44 per cent lighter than competing gun technologies, providing strong handling and spraying control.
The RS gun has an improved spray pattern and reduced VOC emissions for lower material waste and operator health concerns.
