HASCO is reflecting on its successful Open House event, which took place on September 9th 2015 in Lüdenscheid.

HASCO Open House
The notion the company wished to impart to its 350 guests was that 'mould building starts with HASCO'. Together with 25 eminent exhibitors, the leading supplier of modular standard components, accessories and hot runner technology presented a large number of product and manufacturing innovations spanning the entire value added chain for plastics injection moulding.
The active accompanying programme gave the professional visitors plenty of opportunities to find out about the latest developments and trends in mould building on the company's premises. And visitors acquired valuable specialist information first-hand in a series of high-quality lectures by HASCO employees and experts from partner companies in the industry.
After an introduction setting out current developments at HASCO by CEO Christoph Ehrlich and Executive Vice-President Sales & Business Development, Dirk Paulmann, the office lecture programme started with glimpse of what the future holds.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Seul, President of the Association of German Tool and Mould-Makers, spoke about the Potential and implementation options for mould-making 4.0, and he was followed on stage by 3D Systems' Dirk Dombert, who provided insight into additive manufacturing in the field of machining.
Holger Wüst and Ansgar Claes, of MECADAT AG, demonstrated ways of reducing the number of correction loops on the basis of rheological analyses and Manuel Schmellenkamp, SIGMA Engineering GmbH, presented a lecture on virtual moulding as added value for mould building. The morning programme ended with HASCO's own Klaus Zimmermann giving a speech on low-stress material.
In the afternoon, Frank Mumme, KIMW Lüdenscheid, reported on thermal barrier layers. Christian Schumacher, BARLOG Plastics GmbH, provided information on the conditions necessary for successfully processing high performance polymers. And Andreas Filler, hotset GmbH, presented a paper on a new variothermal mould heating system. The lecture session was brought to an end by HASCO presentations from Jochen Müller on optimising setup time and Klaus Meier on the advantages of the HASCO clamping unit.
After closing words and a prize draw by Paulmann, the event was rounded off by guided tours through one of Europe's most modern production systems for standard components, complete with its unmanned transport system. The innovative, fully automatic high-rack storage system, which makes stress-relief annealed material available for production on a continuous basis, was a particular draw, according to organisers.
Special thanks went to Karl-Heinz Möller, the senior manager at the specialist Möller publishers in Velbert, for the many decades of cooperation that had been enjoyed with the publishing house since the first issue of "Stahlformenbauer" more than 30 years ago.
Alongside the technical themes, the accompanying programme gave all the participants plenty of time and space to engage in networking and optimum opportunities to expand their contacts within the industry.
Visitors, exhibitors, speakers and, naturally, the HASCO team were pleased at what was a successful event on all counts.
"We are delighted at the high number of professional visitors, the many interesting discussions and the positive feedback from our guests", HASCO CEO Christoph Ehrlich remarked.
