The company has developed the solution in partnership with various companies involved in offering temperature-controlled packaging solutions.
The new solution will use an integrated and automated packaging returns process to ensure critical drug shipments for reconditioning and repositioning, and Marken will track its packaging inventory between origin and destination before return to a central location to leverage the small package network of its parent company.
Marken CEO Wes Wheeler said: “This service reduces the need for our clients to rely on multiple companies to provide return packaging services. Marken has the capability to manage the used packaging, recondition it in one of our global facilities, and re-position it at the lowest possible cost. This unique service offers tremendous savings for our clients who rely on expensive, reusable packaging for moving their clinical drug product.”
The supply chain company is currently offering the closed-loop service from its locations in Philadelphia, US; Frankfurt, Germany; and Paris, France. It also plans to expand the service to more locations this year.
Marken offers patient-centric supply chain solutions to pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
The company currently operates the depot network and logistic hubs across 48 worldwide locations to facilitate clinical trial material storage and distribution.
