Norner sees continued growth and success
Norner is a global market leader for industrial R&D services in polymers based in Bamble, Norway. In the autumn of 2021, the company will move to a new Polymer Exploration Centre in Porsgrunn – a state-of-the-art international research and technology centre for the plastics industry to offer research services throughout the plastics value chain.
The laboratory capacity and capability has increased in fields such as polymer analysis, mechanical testing and plastic processing. Increased research capacity in several critical areas such as polymer production, additives and characterisation, as well as plastic applications and circular economy, have also been made possible.
CEO Kjetil Larsen said: “Norner celebrates 13 years as a company. The result for the first half of 2020 is the best in Norner's history, and we have a solid project portfolio. We are impressed by our large number of customers who continue to focus on development and innovation even in a pandemic situation. This has given us an opportunity to strengthen our organisation over the past years and I am especially pleased that we have brought in very talented new employees.”
In 2019, Norner became part owner of the new catapult centre, Future Materials, which is a national development and pilot test centre for materials. The company has seen an increase in inquiries and projects related to plastic recycling and the use of recycled plastics, especially related to packaging.
Marketing Manager Ole Jan Myhre added: "The use of plastics is constantly being challenged and we must develop more sustainable solutions for the environment. This is also highly focused by the industry, which needs help with both projects and testing from us in order to achieve their high goals."
