The fourth edition of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe will examine the latest trends in the plastics recycling sector at its free-to-attend conference taking place at the RAI Amsterdam on 25-26 March 2020.

Plastics Recycling Show Europe 2020 announces conference programme
The two-day event’s outline programme has been announced featuring prominent speakers from Europe’s plastics recycling sector.
The conference will provide an holistic view of the whole plastic recycling value chain, drawing together political leaders, brands, recyclers and the plastics recycling and manufacturing industry.
Key speakers include Mattia Pellegrini from the European Commission’s DG ENV; Immo Sander of Werner & Mertz; Karl Edsjö, Director Environmental and European Affairs at Electrolux; Sylvie Thomas, Head of EMEA Sustainability Policies at Lexmark; and Roberta Bernasconi, Senior Manager EMEA Sustainability at Whirlpool.
Pellegrini will deliver the opening keynote on 25 March in the session titled The New Reality for Plastics. This session will cover affairs and developments of plastics-related EU legislation. The following materials focus sessions will explore challenges, issues and opportunities within the sector for mechanical recycling.
The second day conference sessions focus on Global Solutions and Regional Actions on Plastic Waste and will examine existing and developing worldwide solutions to the transboundary problems of marine litter. It will also highlight the success of some of the latest initiatives combatting unwanted plastic waste in the environment.
Joining Daniel Merillet of The One Project in this session will be Hans Axel Kristensen, CEO of Plastix A/S and Dorothea Wiplinger, Sustainability Manager at Borealis AG.
Day two continues with polyolefin material focus sessions which will examine the current status of polyolefin waste streams, including LDPE and HDPE. Speakers in the sessions include Andreas Malmberg of Trioplast and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gilian Gerke of the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal.
The conference concludes with a final material focus session looking at polypropylene (PP) recycling, a new addition to the programme for 2020.
