Brückner Maschinenbau's motto 'stretching the limits' has taken the company's expertise to Algeria, where the German plastics industry giant is co-establishing the first production line for biaxially oriented plastics films in the Maghreb.
Joining forces with Algerian Biaxial Films Packaging (BFP), Brückner Maschinenbau is setting up a state-of-the-art 8.7 m-wide BOPP film line in the Sétif area of north-east Algeria. Production is planned to commence in mid-2016 and the line's annual capacity is expected to be upwards of 40,000 tonnes.
BFP President Abdelhak Ouzzir said: "Our new line will help to satisfy the fast growing demand for flexible packaging in Northern Africa. We will manufacture a wide range of high quality biaxially oriented PP films for various applications. With Brückner at our side we can be sure not only to get the best equipment available but also comprehensive support throughout all phases of the project. We are looking forward to the cooperation and the first film on winder on the Maghreb’s first BO film line."
