Greiner Assistec has injected a little more diversity into its portfolio.
As of June 2015, the company’s multifaceted technology offering has been enriched with Liquid Injection Moulding (LIM).
"LIM is helping us extend our technological reach, allowing us to reinforce our position in the market as a full-service provider," said Wolfgang Rotschopf, Head of Division Assistec.
The best examples of this approach are baby bottles that Greiner Assistec is currently manufacturing in collaboration with Greiner Packaging Division Kavo. The bottles are produced by Division Kavo with injection stretch blow moulding, while the teats are produced by Greiner Assistec using the LIM process. As a full-system supplier, Greiner Assistec guarantees its customers the highest quality with the greatest possible efficiency. Minimising the number of interfaces and suppliers has resulted in cost savings.
LIM is used to produce elastomer parts from LSR (liquid silicone rubber). LSR possesses excellent thermal characteristics and has no plasticisers at all. It is also tasteless, odorless, and biocompatible. The outstanding properties of LSR components have led to its use in a wide range of market sectors.
