Alongside its top of the range automation and auxiliary equipment and a wide range of exhibits, the Austria-based Wittmann Group has already been operating its own sales subsidiary in Mexico for more than 20 years. The Plastimagen is an important platform for Wittmann to present its innovative technologies and processes in the area of injection moulding machines and automation.
At this year‘s Plastimagen, Wittmann Battenfeld will be present with several applications for the automotive and packaging industries, as well as a silicone injection moulding line. The Industry 4.0 solution of the Wittmann Group, known as Wittmann 4.0, will also be demonstrated with a separate exhibit.
The new EcoPower Xpress 160/1100+ with a new WITTMANN IML system, launched at the Fakuma in 2018, will be showcased at the Plastimagen for the first time outside of Europe.
An application for the automotive industry will be demonstrated on a machine of the MacroPower Series. With a MacroPower 500/3400, a B column will be injection moulded from PP using a two-cavity mould. The parts will be removed and deposited on a conveyor belt by a W832 pro robot.
An LSR application will be showcased with an all-electric EcoPower 180/750, as will a machine from the servo-hydraulic SmartPower series, a SmartPower 120/525.
The integrated appliances are a W918 robot, up to two ATON plus dryers, a GRAVIMAX G14 gravimetric blender, and four temperature controllers from the TEMPRO plus D series.
Automation and auxiliary equipment
In addition to the robots and auxiliary equipment integrated in the injection moulding machines, Wittmann Battenfeld will present a broad range of robots and peripheral equipment as stand-alone solutions.
In the area of automation, the W843 pro, W918 and WX143 linear robots will also be exhibited alongside a PRIMUS 14 robot for low-cost pick and place applications, as well as a W822 robot which features a rack-and-pinion drive on its vertical axis. The robot display is rounded off with the WP80 sprue picker.
At this year’s trade fair, appliances equipped with R9, the latest-generation control system, will be presented to the general public. Particularly outstanding features of R9 are intelligent use of command assemblies, program simulation and easy communication with external networks.
Visitors to the booth will of course be well taken care of. As has already become almost a tradition at Wittmann Battenfeld México, robots will again be in charge of serving food and drinks.
