A European plastic closure manufacturer has developed a new cap for edible oil.
Bericap has presented the EV 28/26, which is suited to the lightweight bottle neck PCO 1881.
The new snap on closure is equipped with a screw closure to open the bottle and the bottle’s contents are protected with a tamper-evident membrane.
Bericap’s new cap reportedly offers a dripless function to avoid spillage after pouring and can also be equipped with or without a flow regulator.
According to the company this development stems from the former use of wider PET bottles, when lids had to fit both glass and PET bottles.
However, it says many companies now use bottles with thinner necks to save on plastic and therefore a new cap was needed.
The new EV 28/26 can also be used for products such as sauces, dressings and syrups.
