Röhm selects IMCD as new authorised distributor for the European Market
Röhm is a technology leader for polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) moulding compounds. Its CYROLITE products are designed to meet the stringent requirements of the medical and diagnostic devices and have proven successful in a wide range of applications for over 40 years.
For this new collaboration, Röhm is teaming up with IMCD, which provides a dedicated team of technical and commercial experts, while Röhm brings in the reliable manufacturing operations, products, and solutions of its medical acrylics portfolio.
CYROLITE products are transparent, impact-modified thermoplastic moulding compounds specially developed for medical technology. These products are suitable for applications requiring superior balance of properties as they are tough, highly transparent, bondable, sterilisable (gamma, e-beam, EtO), easy to process and chemical resistant.
All CYROLITE product grades are BPA-free and biocompatible in compliance with USP Class VI and ISO 10993-1. The main applications for these products are in disposable medical device and diagnostics components, such as, infusion and catheter accessories, as well as blood/plasma separators, chest drainage, filters and diagnostics cassettes.
Sergio Corbella, Director Medical Europe within the Business Unit Molding Compounds of Röhm, said: “Our customers will benefit from IMCD’s great service and extended supply chain network. IMCD is a leading distributor that we can count on with excellent knowledge of the market and sales expertise.”
Siobhan Bastiansen, Market Manager Medical at IMCD Advanced Materials Group, added: “We, in the IMCD Medical Polymers Team are delighted to welcome Röhm on board as our new partner. The CYROLITE products are an excellent fit with our current product portfolio which is offered across Europe.
